Mini UPS Price in Bangladesh 2026

Mini UPS Price in Bangladesh

Load shedding should not take your internet down with it. A Mini UPS keeps your router and ONU running on battery the moment power cuts - no restart, no dropped connection. Mini UPS price in Bangladesh starts from Tk 1500 and goes up to Tk 11,400 at Ryans. The right model depends on what you need to power, how long outages last in your area, and whether you need to run both a router and an ONU on one unit. This guide covers all of it.

Which Mini UPS Is Right for You?

Home Broadband Users

Your goal is simple: keep the WiFi router and ONU running during load shedding so the whole household stays connected. A dual-output unit in the 8,000 mAh range covers most homes comfortably. Look for one that clearly states both 5V/9V/12V output support and has two DC ports. Price range: Tk 1,800 to Tk 3,500.

Freelancers and Remote Workers

You cannot afford disconnection during client calls, video meetings, or file uploads. Prioritize backup time over price - go for 10,000 mAh or higher so you are covered even during extended outages. Also, check whether the unit has surge protection, since sudden reconnection spikes can damage networking hardware over time.

Small Offices and POS Users

Offices typically have a router, a managed switch, and sometimes a media converter all needing backup. Standard two-port Mini UPS units may not be enough. Look for models with three or more DC output ports, or consider running two Mini UPS units on separate devices. A unit with a display showing remaining battery percentage is helpful in a shared office environment.

CCTV and IP Camera Users

IP cameras and NVRs often require 12V DC at higher amperage than routers. Confirm the output current specification of any Mini UPS before connecting camera equipment. Many basic router UPS units are rated at 1A or 1.5A per port — insufficient for cameras that may draw 2A or more. For CCTV use, look for units specifically rated for camera loads or that list CCTV compatibility.

Broadband / ISP Customers with Fiber (GPON/XPON)

Fiber ONUs in GPON/XPON setups are the most voltage-sensitive devices in the chain. Some use 12V DC, others use PoE. If your fiber ONU uses PoE, you need a Mini UPS with a PoE output port — do not buy a standard DC-only unit. Confirm your ONU model and power method before selecting.

What Actually Matters When Buying a Mini UPS

Most buyers pick a Mini UPS based on price alone and then discover it does not power their specific router, runs out in two hours, or has the wrong DC jack. These four things determine whether a unit actually works for you:

Voltage Compatibility (5V, 9V, 12V)

This is the single most important check. Your router and ONU each have a voltage requirement printed on their power adapter - usually 9V or 12V for routers, and 12V for ONUs. A Mini UPS that does not match that voltage will either not power the device or damage it.

Most models offer dual output: one fixed port (usually 12V) and one switchable port (5V/9V/12V). Always check both adapters before buying.

Battery Capacity and Real Backup Time

Capacity is measured in mAh. A higher number means longer backup, but the actual runtime depends on how much power your connected devices draw. Most routers and ONUs together consume between 10W and 20W, so even a mid-range unit can comfortably cover several hours.

Number of Output Ports and DC Jack Size

Most routers and ONUs use a 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC jack. Some models differ, so check your adapters before purchasing. If sizes vary, look for a Mini UPS that includes adapter cables in the box.

Single-port units can only power one device. If you need both your router and ONU on backup, buy a unit with at least two output ports.

PoE Support

If your ONU is powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) - common with GPON/XPON fiber setups — a standard Mini UPS will not work. You need a unit with a dedicated PoE output port. These are less common and priced higher, but they are the correct solution for fiber broadband users where the ONU does not have its own DC adapter.

Battery Capacity and Backup Time Guide

Battery Capacity	Backup Time (Router Only)	Backup Time (Router + ONU)	Best For
4,000–5,000 mAh	4–6 hours	2–3 hours	Light load shedding areas
8,000–8,800 mAh	8–10 hours	4–6 hours	Most homes and offices
10,000+ mAh	10–15 hours	6–8 hours	Long outages, rural areas

Mini UPS vs. Regular UPS - What Is the Difference?

A common source of confusion is whether to buy a Mini UPS or a regular desktop UPS for home networking. Here is the key difference:

Feature	Mini UPS (DC)	Regular UPS (AC)
Powers	DC devices (routers, ONUs, cameras)	AC devices (computers, monitors)
Size	Small, fits on a shelf	Large, heavy
Price	Tk 1,450 to Tk 11,400	Tk 5,000+
Switchover time	Near-instant (0–5ms)	5–20ms (may reset router)
Best for	Home internet backup	Desktop computers, NAS

For keeping your internet alive during load shedding, a Mini UPS is the better choice in almost every home scenario. It is cheaper, faster to switch, and specifically designed for the DC devices in your network setup.

What to Check Before You Buy a Mini UPS

✓

Router Voltage

Look at the label on your router’s power adapter. Note the output voltage — usually 9V or 12V. The Mini UPS must support that exact voltage on its primary output port.

✓

ONU Voltage

Your ONU adapter is often a different voltage from your router. Check it separately. Most mid-range Mini UPS units have a switchable second port (5V/9V/12V) — confirm it covers your ONU’s requirement.

✓

DC Jack Size

The standard DC jack is 5.5mm x 2.1mm, which fits most routers and ONUs. Some devices differ. Check your adapter plugs before ordering to avoid a mismatch.

✓

PoE or DC Powered ONU?

If your ONU has no separate power adapter and is powered through the Ethernet cable (PoE), a standard Mini UPS will not work. You need a unit with a dedicated PoE output port.

✓

Number of Output Ports

Count the devices you need to power. A single-port unit cannot run both a router and an ONU at the same time. Confirm port count before buying.

✓

Backup Time vs. Your Outage Length

Think about how long load shedding typically lasts in your area. Budget units cover 2 to 4 hours; mid-range covers 4 to 8 hours. Buy slightly above what you expect to need.

✓

Warranty Coverage

Genuine units at Ryans come with 1-year authorized warranty support. Confirm before buying, especially for mid-range and premium models.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use one Mini UPS for both my router and ONU?+

Yes, if the unit has two output ports and each port supports the correct voltage for your devices. Most mid-range models in Bangladesh are designed for exactly this. Check the voltage on both adapters before buying.

How long can a Mini UPS provide backup?+

An 8,000 mAh unit running a router and ONU together typically delivers 4 to 6 hours. Single-device use will be longer. Manufacturers often quote best-case figures, so expect slightly less in real use.

Is Mini UPS good for load shedding in Bangladesh?+

Yes. It switches over in milliseconds, so your router and ONU never restart. Your internet stays live through the entire outage. For regular daily load shedding, go for 8,000 mAh or above.

Can a Mini UPS power CCTV cameras?+

Some can. Cameras draw more current than routers, so check the output current per port (look for 2A or higher) and confirm it is 12V. Choose a unit that explicitly lists CCTV compatibility.

Is a Mini UPS the same as a regular UPS?+

No. A regular UPS outputs AC power for computers and appliances. A Mini UPS outputs DC power directly, which is what routers, ONUs, and cameras use. It is smaller, cheaper, and switches faster.

Where to buy Mini UPS in Bangladesh with official warranty?+

Ryans stocks authorized Mini UPS units with 1-year warranty support. You can order online with home delivery or visit any Ryans showroom across Dhaka.
