MacBook Air Price in Bangladesh
MacBook Air price in Bangladesh starts from around Tk 182,000 and can go up to around Tk 295,000 at Ryans. The price mainly changes with Apple chip generation, 13.6-inch or 15.3-inch display, unified memory, SSD storage, GPU configuration, and overall specification. M5 configurations range from 16GB/512GB portable models to 24GB/1TB options aimed at heavier professional use.
Apple MacBook Air is built around portability, silent fanless operation, long battery life, and Apple Silicon performance. The M5 generation is available in 13.6-inch and 15.3-inch sizes, with 16GB unified memory as the starting configuration and options for 24GB or 32GB. Apple rates both sizes for up to 18 hours of video streaming.
The important decision is not simply whether to buy a MacBook Air M5. Buyers should decide the screen size, unified memory, storage, and performance level at purchase, because a MacBook Air is not designed around the same upgrade path as a typical Windows laptop.
Who Should Buy a MacBook Air?
Freelancers, Office Users and Mobile Professionals
A MacBook Air works particularly well when the laptop moves regularly between home, office, meetings, cafés, and client locations.
The 13-inch M5 weighs about 1.23kg, while the 15-inch is about 1.51kg. The smaller model is easier to carry every day; the larger one trades some portability for substantially more workspace.
Recommended
For remote and hybrid work, also consider the camera, battery, external-monitor setup, and whether your office software works properly on macOS.
Developers
A MacBook Air for coding can handle web development, programming, IDEs, terminals, local development tools, and many software-development workflows comfortably.
Light Creators and Designers
MacBook Air is suitable for photo editing, graphic design, UI/UX work, music projects, and moderate video editing.
Apple's M5 chip includes dedicated media engines for formats including H.264, HEVC, ProRes, ProRes RAW, and AV1 decode, which helps with supported media workflows.
How to Choose the Right MacBook Air
01
Choose Display Size First
Both sizes use the same MacBook Air design direction, so the main difference is how much you value portability versus workspace.
The 13.6-inch MacBook Air is easier to carry and weighs about 1.23kg. The 15.3-inch MacBook Air weighs about 1.51kg but gives more room for spreadsheets, timelines, coding windows, documents, and side-by-side multitasking.
Do not choose the 15-inch model expecting automatically higher CPU performance. Choose it because you want the larger display.
02
Choose Unified Memory for Your Workload
For the M5 generation, 16GB unified memory is the starting configuration, with 24GB and 32GB options available.
16GB is suitable for study, office work, coding, everyday multitasking, and moderate creative use.
24GB makes more sense for heavier development, larger creative applications, demanding multitasking, and longer ownership.
32GB is more specialized and should be chosen when the workload genuinely benefits from additional memory.
03
Choose SSD Capacity Carefully
A 512GB MacBook Air is enough for applications, documents, coding projects, photos, and normal professional work.
Choose 1TB when you keep larger media libraries, development environments, creative projects, or substantial work files locally.
Because memory and internal storage are selected as part of the Mac configuration rather than treated like normal user-upgrade components, it is better to buy enough capacity from the beginning.
04
Compare GPU Configuration Only When It Matters
Not every MacBook Air M5 has the same GPU configuration. The 13-inch M5 can use an 8-core or 10-core GPU, while the 15-inch M5 uses a 10-core GPU.
For documents, study, coding, browsing, and office work, this should not be the main buying factor.
A stronger GPU configuration becomes more relevant for photo work, video editing, graphics-intensive applications, and other workloads that can use the additional graphics capability.
05
Check Ports and External Monitor Requirements
The M5 MacBook Air provides MagSafe 3, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It does not provide built-in HDMI, Ethernet, or an SD card reader.
If your desk setup uses HDMI monitors, wired LAN, multiple USB-A devices, memory cards, or other peripherals, include the cost of a suitable USB-C adapter or dock in your budget.
M5 MacBook Air models support up to two external displays in addition to the built-in display. External-display capability differs across older MacBook Air generations, so check the exact chip.
06
Understand the Fanless Design
MacBook Air uses a fanless design, which keeps it silent and helps maintain its thin, lightweight form.
That design works very well for normal productivity and burst-heavy workloads, but it is not intended to replace an actively cooled workstation laptop.
If your work involves long rendering sessions, repeated video exports, sustained compiling, 3D workloads, or other tasks that keep the processor and GPU heavily loaded for extended periods, compare the MacBook Pro before deciding.
13 Inch vs 15 Inch MacBook Air
The main decision is portability versus workspace, not simply which model sounds more powerful.
| Consideration | 13.6-inch MacBook Air | 15.3-inch MacBook Air |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | About 1.23kg | About 1.51kg |
| Display | 2560 × 1664 Liquid Retina | 2880 × 1864 Liquid Retina |
| Portability | Easier for regular commuting and travel | Larger footprint in a bag |
| Workspace | Comfortable for most study and professional work | Better for side-by-side windows and larger spreadsheets |
| Best Direction | Students, travelers, freelancers and mobile professionals | Office users, developers and creators wanting more screen space |
| Performance Choice | Choose based on memory, storage and GPU configuration | Choose primarily for the larger display, not simply for speed |
MacBook Air Price Range and What You Get
The MacBook Air price in BD rises mainly as buyers move to larger displays, more storage, additional unified memory, and higher GPU configurations.
| Price Direction | What You Generally Get |
|---|---|
| Around Tk 182,000–200,000 | 13.6-inch M5, 16GB unified memory, 512GB SSD and a portable everyday configuration |
| Around Tk 220,000–250,000 | 1TB storage on selected 13-inch models or 15.3-inch configurations with more screen space |
| Around Tk 260,000–295,000 | Higher-memory and larger-storage configurations, including 24GB/1TB options and premium 15.3-inch models |
When Should You Choose a MacBook Pro Instead?
MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are designed around different priorities, so the better option depends on how demanding your workload stays over long periods.
Air
MacBook Air Makes More Sense When
MacBook Air is the better fit when low weight, silent operation, battery life, and everyday performance are the priorities.
For study, business, coding, mobility, and occasional photo or video work, Air can provide the better balance without paying for professional hardware that may rarely be used.
Pro
MacBook Pro Makes More Sense When
A MacBook Pro becomes more appropriate when you regularly need sustained CPU/GPU performance, a brighter Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion up to 120Hz, additional ports such as HDMI and SDXC, higher memory options, or M5 Pro/Max-class performance.
For professional workloads that stay heavy for hours, Pro is easier to justify.
Consider These When Buying MacBook Air in BD
Choosing Only by Apple Chip Generation
A newer chip does not automatically make a lower-memory configuration better for your work. Compare chip, unified memory, SSD capacity, display size, and price together.
Buying Too Little Memory or Storage
MacBook Air is not a laptop to buy with the assumption that you will simply add more RAM or internal SSD space later. Choose the configuration with future requirements in mind.
Buying the 15 Inch Model Only Because You Think It Is Faster
The main advantage of the 15.3-inch MacBook Air is screen space. Performance still depends on the actual chip, GPU, memory, and workload.
Ignoring Adapter and Dock Costs
Two Thunderbolt ports are enough for many users, but not every office or creator setup. Include adapters or a dock in the total budget if you need HDMI, LAN, USB-A, or card readers.
Assuming Every MacBook Air Supports the Same External Displays
Display support has changed across Apple Silicon generations. Check the exact MacBook Air chip if a multi-monitor setup is important.
Choosing Air for a Workload That Really Needs Pro
The fanless design is a major advantage for silence and portability, but sustained professional rendering, heavy 3D, large video projects, and demanding production workloads may justify MacBook Pro instead.
