Split AC Price in Bangladesh 2026
Split AC price in Bangladesh currently ranges from Tk 39,200 to Tk 230,000 on Ryans. The final price depends on three things: tonnage (capacity), inverter or non-inverter technology, and the brand you choose.
A split AC has two separate units. The indoor unit hangs on a wall inside the room. The outdoor unit sits outside the building and holds the compressor. Because the compressor stays outside, the indoor unit runs quietly. This design is why split type AC is the most common cooling choice for homes, shops, and offices across Bangladesh.
Ryans lists split AC models from ten brands: Gree, Haier, Hisense, Hitachi, Hyundai, Midea, Panasonic, Singer, TCL, and Beko. Capacities run from 1 Ton to 1.5 Ton, 1.6 Ton, 2 Ton, and 3 Ton. Both inverter and non-inverter types are available, in Cooling Only and Hot & Cool modes.
Who Buys a Split AC, and Why
Buyers come to this category page for different reasons, and the right AC depends on which situation matches you.
✓
Families buy ahead of the hot season (roughly March to September) to protect children and elderly members from heat stress.
✓
Newly married couples are often buying their first major home appliance and are comparing budget against long-term running cost.
✓
Small business owners shop, clinic, or office operators need stable cooling to keep customers comfortable and protect stock or equipment from heat.
✓
Landlords are furnishing a rental unit and usually prioritize a reliable, mid-range model.
✓
Upgraders already own an old non-inverter AC and are switching to inverter technology specifically to lower their electricity bill.
✓
Corporate and bulk buyers are outfitting several rooms or an entire office floor at once and need consistent pricing across units.
How to Pick the Right Tonnage for Your Room
Room size decides tonnage more than any other factor. An undersized AC runs non-stop and still feels weak. An oversized AC cools too fast, switches off and on repeatedly, and wastes electricity in the process.
| Room Size | Typical Room | Recommended Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 120 sq ft | Small bedroom, study | 1 Ton |
| 120–180 sq ft | Standard bedroom, small living room | 1.5 Ton |
| 180–220 sq ft | Larger bedroom, master suite | 1.6 Ton |
| 220–350 sq ft | Living room, small office, shop | 2 Ton |
| 350–500 sq ft | Restaurant floor, showroom, large office | 3 Ton |
These numbers assume a normal ceiling height of about 9–10 ft, moderate sunlight, and average occupancy. A few conditions push the recommendation up a size:
- A ceiling higher than standard, since more air volume needs more cooling power.
- A west-facing or direct-sun room, which heats up faster than a shaded one.
- Heavy daily usage, more than one heat-producing appliance in the room, or more people using the space regularly.
Bangladesh's humid climate adds one more variable. A room can feel warm from moisture even when the temperature reading looks fine, so dehumidification performance matters as much as raw cooling capacity during the humid months. When in doubt, check the BTU rating printed on the product page and match it against your room's actual conditions rather than square footage alone.
Inverter AC vs Non-Inverter AC: What Actually Changes
Both types cool a room to the same target temperature. The difference is in how the compressor behaves once that temperature is reached.
A non-inverter split AC runs its compressor at one fixed speed. It switches fully off once the room is cool, then switches fully on again when the temperature rises. This on-off cycle keeps the purchase price lower, which suits a room used for only a few hours a day.
An inverter split AC adjusts compressor speed instead of stopping it. Once the set temperature is reached, the compressor slows down rather than shutting off. This keeps the room temperature steadier and reduces electricity draw during long running hours. The trade-off is a higher purchase price, which is usually recovered through lower bills over months of heavy daily use.
Estimated Monthly Electricity Cost (8 Hours a Day, Tk 10 per Unit)
| AC Capacity | AC Type | Units/Hour | Daily Units | Daily Cost | Monthly Units | Monthly Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Ton | Inverter | 0.8 kWh | 6.4 | ৳64 | 192 | ৳1,920 |
| 1.5 Ton | Inverter | 1.2 kWh | 9.6 | ৳96 | 288 | ৳2,880 |
| 1.6 Ton | Inverter | 1.28 kWh | 10.24 | ৳102.4 | 307.2 | ৳3,072 |
| 2 Ton | Inverter | 1.6 kWh | 12.8 | ৳128 | 384 | ৳3,840 |
| 3 Ton | Inverter | 2.4 kWh | 19.2 | ৳192 | 576 | ৳5,760 |
| 1 Ton | Non-Inverter | 1.1 kWh | 8.8 | ৳88 | 264 | ৳2,640 |
| 1.5 Ton | Non-Inverter | 1.6 kWh | 12.8 | ৳128 | 384 | ৳3,840 |
| 1.6 Ton | Non-Inverter | 1.71 kWh | 13.68 | ৳136.8 | 410.4 | ৳4,104 |
| 2 Ton | Non-Inverter | 2.2 kWh | 17.6 | ৳176 | 528 | ৳5,280 |
| 3 Ton | Non-Inverter | 3.3 kWh | 26.4 | ৳264 | 792 | ৳7,920 |
This table is an estimate, not a guaranteed bill. Actual cost still depends on your electricity tariff slab, real daily runtime, room heat load, and the rated power of the specific model, which is printed on its specification page.
A Simple Rule for Choosing Between Them
Match your daily runtime to the type, then check the tonnage table above for the size:
4 hours a day or less: the electricity cost gap between inverter and non-inverter is small, so a non-inverter unit is usually the more practical, lower-upfront-cost pick.
8 hours a day or more, such as overnight in a bedroom or all-day in an office, an inverter AC is usually the better long-term choice, since the monthly savings grow the longer it runs.
If budget only allows a non-inverter unit today, that is still a reasonable choice for light daily use. An inverter upgrade can always follow later for rooms that end up running the AC longer than expected.

What Buyers Usually Ask Before Choosing an AC
Will an inverter AC actually lower my bill? Savings depend on daily runtime. Use the electricity cost table above to compare your expected hours of use across both types the gap is small at low usage and grows at high usage.
Isn't the upfront price plus installation too high? Compare the total cost against your daily runtime and room size rather than the sticker price alone. A correctly sized unit avoids the extra cost of running an undersized AC constantly or an oversized one inefficiently.
Can I get spare parts and service later? All ten brands listed on this page are sold with official brand warranty, and warranty terms are shown on each product page. Check the warranty card for the authorized service center before you buy.
Not sure if you need 1 Ton or 1.5 Ton? Use the room-size table above as a starting point, then adjust up a size if your room has a high ceiling, direct sun, or heavy daily use.
Worried about load-shedding or voltage fluctuation? If your area has unstable power supply, check whether the model you're considering lists voltage protection as a feature on its product page this can protect the compressor from fluctuation-related damage.
What does the warranty actually cover? Warranty length and coverage vary by brand and model, from 1 to 5 years. Confirm on the product page whether it covers the compressor only, the full unit, or installation, before completing your purchase.
How do you avoid a counterfeit or grey-market unit? Every split AC sold on Ryans comes with an official brand warranty, which is one way to confirm it is an authorized, non-grey-market unit.
Want to pay in installments? EMI is available on eligible split AC orders, letting you spread the cost of a higher-capacity or premium model over several months.
Split AC vs Cassette AC vs Portable AC
A split AC isn't the only option Ryans sells under Air Conditioner. Two alternatives exist for specific situations.
Cassette AC mounts flush into the ceiling and suits larger commercial spaces such as restaurants, shops, or open-plan offices. Prices run from Tk 94,000 to Tk 369,000, with capacities from 1.5 Ton up to 5 Ton, from brands including General, Gree, Haier, Hisense, and LG.
Portable AC needs no wall-mounted outdoor unit, which suits rented spaces where installation isn't allowed. Ryans currently lists a single model, a Gree 1 Ton Non-Inverter Portable AC at Tk 57,000, so selection is limited compared to split AC.
For most homes and small offices, split AC remains the standard choice. Cassette AC fits larger commercial ceilings, and Portable AC works as a fallback where no outdoor unit can be installed. Browse the full range on the main Air Conditioner category page.
Split AC Maintenance in Bangladesh's Climate
Regular upkeep matters more here than in drier climates, because dust and humidity both stress the unit over time.
Clean or rinse the indoor unit's air filter every two to four weeks during heavy-use months. A blocked filter restricts airflow, forces the compressor to work harder, and raises the electricity bill. Keep the area around the outdoor unit clear of dust, leaves, and obstructions, since restricted airflow there reduces cooling performance.
Before peak summer, have a technician check the refrigerant level and clean the coils. A pre-season service reduces the chance of a mid-summer breakdown. If cooling weakens, the unit makes unusual noise, or water leaks from the indoor unit, contact the brand's authorized service center listed on the warranty card rather than attempting a repair yourself, since unauthorized repairs can void the warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which split AC is best and cheapest?
Split AC prices at Ryans currently start from Tk 39,200. The cheapest model is not necessarily the best for every room. Choose the required capacity first, then consider your daily usage hours and compare suitable inverter or non-inverter models within your budget.
How do I choose an energy-efficient AC for home use?
An inverter split AC is generally the better choice if you plan to use the AC for many hours each day, especially overnight. Compare the rated power consumption of models with similar capacity, along with inverter technology, room coverage, refrigerant, and other efficiency information provided on the product page.
What are the essential features to look for in a new split AC?
Start with capacity, inverter type, cooling mode, refrigerant, rated power consumption, indoor noise level, and warranty. Then consider convenience features such as sleep mode, turbo cooling, auto restart, and Wi-Fi or app control if they are important for your usage.
What is the average cost for professional installation of a 1.5-ton split AC?
There is no single fixed installation charge for every 1.5-ton split AC. Installation cost and terms can vary by brand, location, current offer, authorized service provider, and any additional materials or installation work required. Check the individual product details or contact the relevant authorized service provider for current installation terms.
Which is better, inverter or non-inverter split AC?
An inverter split AC is generally better for longer daily use because its compressor can adjust operating speed instead of repeatedly running at full output and stopping. A non-inverter AC can still be suitable for shorter or occasional use when a lower initial purchase cost is more important. Choose based on your expected daily runtime, room requirements, and budget.
How much electricity does an inverter AC save?
There is no fixed electricity-saving percentage that applies to every inverter AC. Actual savings depend on daily runtime, temperature setting, room conditions, AC capacity, compressor efficiency, rated power consumption, and electricity tariff. For a useful comparison, check the rated power of inverter and non-inverter models with similar capacity.
Is 1 Ton AC enough for a 200 sq ft room?
A 1 Ton AC is generally not the first choice for a room around 200 sq ft. Around this room size, a 1.5 to 1.6 Ton AC is usually a more suitable starting point. However, direct sunlight, ceiling height, insulation, windows, occupancy, and other heat sources can increase or reduce the actual cooling requirement.
Can I buy a split AC on EMI from Ryans?
Yes. EMI is available on eligible split AC purchases at Ryans. Check the individual product page and current payment-plan information before completing your order.
